Good morning. I am the Executive Director of a not for profit childcare located in mid town Toronto. I am currently in the process of planning our summer camp program for our children who range in age from 4 – 10 years (kindergarten to grade 5). I am hoping you may be able to answer these questions which will help me greatly in planning the food and nutrition component of my summer camp. Food and nutrition are important for growing bodies and we would like to see what options are in the community in addition to learning how to prepare simple and healthy snacks at home. So many families now eat out or order in on a regular basis.
Does your restaurant offer tours? (This would be for my older children.) I can remember doing tours of restaurants many years ago and learning how the food was prepared and then either making or sampling items from the menu.
Does your restaurant ever come out to do presentations for children? You would come to us and do a workshop? If so, what would the cost be and what would be included with the workshop?
Do you have any type of school/childcare lunch program? If so, can you please tell me a little bit about it?
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this email and answer my, perhaps, unusual questions. I look forward to your reply.
