I am reaching out to ask whether you would be interested in having an international youth employee helping out at Jimmy The Greek (office assistant, marketing, or just bring some new perspectives and ideas?) from January on. Ultimately, I would love to work with administrative tasks, but I am definitely open to any suggestions you might have. My goal is to do something I find meaningful, while gaining work experience.

Currently, I am taking a gap year from the University of Toronto to do a double internship at the Honorary Consulate of Sweden and the Swedish American Museum – both located in Chicago. As my field of study is “Communication, Culture, and IT”, marketing and communication is what I work with both at the Consulate and at the Museum. I am primarily working as a marketing assistant, but my tasks tend to vary across respective business sectors.

Experiences other than my current internships include retail, coaching children (track and field), restaurants, and nightclubs. “Office work” / Assistant is yet another experience of mine; I have worked with administrative tasks for a sports club (Malmö Löparförening) since 2014 and for a Swedish marketing company (Marknadsfokus AB) since 2015, and do still work for them with online-based tasks.

Other than that, I am an easygoing fast-learner without fear of taking initiative. With an optimistic take on life, I am service-minded, creative, and social.

A little more about me; I am a 20 year old girl, born and raised in Sweden. After graduating from the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in Malmö, Sweden, I moved to Toronto in September 2018 to study at the University of Toronto. I also represent the University as part of their track and field team. As mentioned, I currently reside in Chicago. As my respective internships end in December 2019, I am looking to work in Canada from January 2020 onwards, and plan on returning to studying full-time in the fall of 2020.

Working in Canada will require an IEC visa, for which I will be applying as soon as the application pool for 2020 opens in November/December. Sweden has a quota of 580 IEC visas being approved annually, and statistically speaking, my chances of being approved are high.

I am definitely interested in any position (full or part-time), offer, or even idea, that you might have in mind for me.

I will be in Toronto for a few days between Nov. 6 and Nov. 10, and would be happy to meet in person! Meeting over Skype would work too.

Please do not hesitate to send me an email if you have further questions, concerns, or if you would like to see my resume. Looking forward to hearing back from you!
